Billerica Historical Society Annual Tea (That’s my friend, Diane in the blue period dress. She planned the tea with her daughter and others. Thanks also to her husband Gary for helping. Diane’s sister Marilyn gave a talk on how tea rooms came to be. Short story: It was a way women could make money after being widowed, or something extra. Taverns became Tea Rooms during Prohibition. Then guess what happened after Prohibition ended?)
